What we do...
Breaking Chains Honduras is committed to serving those in urban poverty both physically and spiritually.
We offer a variety of services to care for the basic needs of a person, as well as services to care for them on a deeper level. So what does that look like?:
- Temporary to Semi-Permanent Living Facility
- Meal Service
- Worship and Bible Study
- Recreational Programs
- Aquaponics Farming
- Donated Item Giveaways
We have a "wish list" of services that we hope to be able to offer in the near future, including vocational and English classes, student and family sponsorship and a micro-loan program.
Aquaponics Farming
In September 2011, Breaking Chains installed a small aquaponics farm on the balcony of the ministry facility. The farm is an organic project that will produce a variety of vegetables and at least 100 fish per year.
The goal of the project is to teach the residents of the building useful skills in farming as well as skills in business. The food produced by the farm will be used to provide meals for the facility residents as well as sold to the public.
