What we do...
Breaking Chains Honduras is committed to serving those in urban poverty both physically and spiritually.
We offer a variety of services to care for the basic needs of a person, as well as services to care for them on a deeper level. So what does that look like?:
- Temporary to Semi-Permanent Living Facility
- Meal Service
- Worship and Bible Study
- Recreational Programs
- Aquaponics Farming
- Donated Item Giveaways
We have a "wish list" of services that we hope to be able to offer in the near future, including vocational and English classes, student and family sponsorship and a micro-loan program.
Recreational Programs
Part of breaking free from chains and living a healthy life is staying away from harmful activities. One way to accomplish that is to replace those negative activities with positive ones. Breaking Chains offers a variety of programs aimed at keeping people off of the street and away from dangerous or immoral activity.
These programs include:
Running club: After meal services, everyone is welcome to get some exercise and run around the downtown area near the building.
Saturday Night Movie Night: Each Saturday night, Breaking Chains shows a family friendly movie at the building to encourage families to get together and to provide an alternative activity to typical Saturday night entertainment.
Excursions: Breaking Chains also offers short excursions periodically to do an activity in small groups. In the past, these excursions have included trips to play soccer, trips to the movies and a camping outing.
